Why learn Chinese?
For fun.
Chinese is a fun and cool language to learn. You get to try out many new things that just wouldn't be possible with most other languages. For example, you get to learn thousands upon thousands of beautiful characters. You also get to learn to add a tone to every single syllable you speak. You can't deny that's fun!

Earn money.
If you haven't already noticed, there are quite a few Chinese people living around the world. The majority of Chinese people are located in the Middle Kingdom a.k.a. China. I managed to count approximately 1.4 billion Chinese people on my last trip around China. The Chinese people's appetite for food, cars, electronics, clothing and entertainment is increasing rapidly. They are willing to pay for the above. So, don't me a mug and miss out on cashing in on their spend fest. Learn Chinese and use it to and sell your product or service to the Chinese people.

Job chance.
With a lot of Chinese emigrating overseas, there are more job opportunities in coming available for people as translators in countries all around the world. Also, the children of early Chinese migrants who mother tongues were Cantonese, Hakka or some other dialect tends to want their children to learn Chinese Mandarin now. If you learn Chinese now, even in you home country you may just have the edge you need to get that job you've always wanted.

Delicious food.
Chinese food is arguably the best in the world. I'm not talking about your typical Chinese takeout which is pretty good as it is. What I'm talking about are the gourmet dishes which will delight you in China. There is succulent tender lamb in Inner Mongolia and Ningxia. Peking duck with its mouthwatering sauce awaits you in Beijing. There are also flaming hot spicy dishes in Sichuan which will numb your taste buds for a month and the sweet, sweet dishes of Jiangsu province which will spike your insulin levels in seconds. There are also special dishes made from dog, donkey, snake, monkey brains and much, much more. You're crazy not try them. Remember what your mum said to you when you were growing up, "Enjoy yourself to the max and try everything at least once." You'll need to learn at least the Chinese names of as many dishes as possible so you don't miss out.
