With globalization making the world a much smaller place the ability to speak a foreign language has shifted from a useful to an essential skill. Given this new reality why not give children a head start with learning chinese language at an early age? Mandarin Chinese is the most commonly spoken language worldwide. Amanda Hsiung-Blodgett, known as Miss Panda to her fans, is the author and creator of a new Mandarin Chinese learning series, a big hit with young children.

She was also the lead instructor and host of the top-rated English language program on Taiwan''s National Education Radio station and received a perfect score on the U.S. Department of State''s Mandarin Chinese language test at the prestigious Foreign Service Institute for American diplomats.

Her first CD of the series, "Let''s Learn Mandarin Chinese with Miss Panda!", utilizes songs, games, rap, rhyme and movement to present over 100 of the most commonly used expressions in Mandarin Chinese. The CD, designed for children ages 3 to 8, features 12 lessons for youngsters who have little or no exposure to a foreign language.

The album presents a mix of Mandarin Chinese for young children, coupled with the corresponding English words, to build comprehension, fluency and confidence in listeners'' growing skills. The 54-minute audio program can be used at home or in the car to amuse children while they learn.

Youngsters will learn words and phrases that include salutations, polite forms of address, numbers and animals. Learning sessions with names that include "Stinky Skunk!" and "Kung Fu Rap" will tickle children''s funny bone while engaging their curiosity and desire to learn.
